Reykjavik’s Coastline Consists of Straits, Coves and Islands
There are a lot of tourists all around the world who go to Ireland all the time because there are a lot of fun and exciting things to do in this beautiful country. In addition, it is filled with picturesque tourist attractions. Reykjavik, Ireland’s capital, has a coastline that is surrounded by islands, coves, and straits. It is also famous among many Ireland locals and vacationers alike because there is a beach located in the country’s capital. Yes, there is indeed a beach in Reykjavik called Nautholsvik. The beach is near downtown Rekyjavik, and it is not far from the city’s airport. Other people are bothered that the beach is located near a domestic airport, but you should not let this bother you because it is quite exciting to watch the airplanes ascend and descend.
You should know though that the beach is man-made. They brought sands from somewhere else to create a better experience for the “beach-goers.” In addition, they artificially made the ocean water to give the locals in Ireland a feeling that they are in a tropical country like the Philippines or Thailand. It is truly a beautiful sight. There are also various hot pots in the beach that contain heated swimming water. If you want to soak up in the hot pot, you need to pay about 2 per person. If you want to swim in the beach though, you do not need to pay anything because it is for free. However, there are only a few rare days when the locals are able to enjoy the “thermal beach” because it is always cold in Ireland. I recommend that you go to this beach during July to September because those are the hottest months in Ireland.
When at Reykjavik’s man-made beach, you can ride a bicycle, run, or walk along the man-made shore with your family or friends.Take a look here to learn more: The Understated Charm of Iceland’s Capital
